The Lincolnshire procurement programme seeks to wield the immense buying power of our health economy for the benefit of all services. With the three NHS provider Trusts working together we are able to secure better prices with the resulting economies of scale and agree shared contracts for goods and services which demonstrate best value for money.

The Trusts already share a procurement team who are working hard to bring in line all of the various contracts held by each organisation such as waste management, pharmacy services, commercial mobile phone contracts and computer hardware.

The programme also seeks to ensure that procurement processes all adhere to current best practice, accessing national purchasing frameworks (these have national best prices already approved), that we use supplies as efficiently as possible and we manage our stock levels to minimise waste.

By using the technology available to support our procurement functions we will be able to ensure we get best value for every pound we spend on clinical and non-clinical supplies.
