Walk-in covid vaccinations to be offered as part of European Days at PRSA, Boston

15th April 2021

The Mass Vaccination Centre at PRSA, Boston, will be holding European Days over the next two weekends, in an effort to encourage more people from eastern European communities to have their first covid vaccination.

Due to be held on Sunday 18 April between 10 – 2pm and Sunday 25 April between 10 – 4pm, the European Days will offer the opportunity to attend as a ‘walk-in’ for a covid vaccination (AstraZeneca) without the need to pre-book an appointment.

“So far we have vaccinated well over 50,000 people over the age of 50, and are now beginning to give second doses of the vaccination, as well as booking in people aged 45 and over,” explains Lynda Stockwell, Clinical and Operational Lead, PRSA.  “As part of this we are really keen to make sure that as many people as possible from the eastern European communities in Lincolnshire have their vaccinations.”

The walk-in appointments do not need to be pre-booked although people should bring their NHS number with them, which can be found online at nhs.uk

“We will have translators on hand to help communicate with people who do not speak English, and we are also planning to set up a children’s area in the main hall adjacent to where the vaccinations are given, so that parents can see their children whilst they are having their vaccination without the children having to be in a clinical area,” adds Lynda.

Anybody who is eastern European and aged 45 or over, or is a carer (paid or informal), or clinically extremely vulnerable, or works in health or social care is welcome to attend.
