NHS Lincolnshire is working in partnership with the Lincolnshire Diabetes User and Carer Involvement Group. This is a well established group providing essential feedback to NHS Lincolnshire on how to improve services for people living with diabetes
The group consists of 16 members and is always looking to recruit new members. It was formed as part of the national User Involvement in Local Diabetes Care project, which is in partnership with Diabetes UK supported and funded by NHS Diabetes.
The members meet bi-monthly and represent the diversity of people living with diabetes in Lincolnshire in terms of age, geography, carers, type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
The Lincolnshire User and Carer Involvement group is very positive and committed; the members have worked with NHS Lincolnshire on the following:
- The development of an information leaflet ‘Your Diabetes Care in Lincolnshire’, which is available to download from the Useful Documents section to the right of this page
- A bi-monthly newsletter - available to download from the Useful Documents section to the right of this page
- The development of user and carer education programmes
- Working around care planning
