Walk-in Centre

No appointment is necessary for minor injuries and illnesses, health advice and information.

Opening Hours

The centre is open from 8am - 8pm, Monday - Sunday.

It is also open bank holidays (except Christmas Day and Easter Sunday).

Patients may be redirected to an alternative service if the centre is still very busy near to closing time.

What treatments does the centre provide?

The Walk-in Centre will provide treatment for:

  • Minor injuries, cuts and grazes
  • Minor illnesses
  • Minor scalds and burns
  • Strains and sprains
  • Bites and stings
  • Ear and throat infections
  • Emergency contraception
  • Minor skin infections / rashes
  • Minor eye conditions / infections
  • Stomach upsets
  • Coughs and colds
  • Other common illnesses
  • Asthma
  • Health promotion & health screening advice

The Walk-in Centre will aim to see you within 30 minutes of booking in at reception. A record of your consultation will be sent to your own GP, or Health Visitor for childrens' appointments.  

The centre will not provide treatment for:

  • Road traffic injury
  • Head injury - loss of consciousness
  • Chest pains
  • Overdose of drugs or accidental drinking of chemicals
  • Severe allergic reactions
  • Doctor's certificates

The Walk-in Centre does not issue repeat prescriptions.
