Clinical Commissioning Groups

The Government's white paper "Equity and Excellence: Liberating the NHS" sets out a radical new vision for the health service in England

These reforms will touch every part of the NHS and have an impact on almost every organisation that delivers NHS care.

PCTs have a critical role to play until 2013, supporting unprecedented transition to enable commissioning to be carried out by local Clinical Commissioning Groups or the NHS Commissioning Board.

Fleur Taylor, Assistant Director for Practice Based Commissioning for NHS Lincolnshire said:

Clinical Commissioning Groups will be at the cutting edge of the NHS reforms that will see GPs responsible for the budgets of their local population. This is an exciting opportunity for local GPs and NHS Lincolnshire, and we will continue to work closely with all our local CCGs to support the transition.

    Health Watch Lincolnshire

A new consumer body called HealthWatch England will be set up which will support local HealthWatch bodies - these will replace the current Local Involvement Networks.

HealthWatch Lincolnshire will not only react to feedback from patients and people who use our services to resolve issues and point people in the direction of further assistance, but will also proactively monitor the quality of services to promote improvements for children and adults in health and social care.

HealthWatch Lincolnshire will continue to use people’s views and experiences to influence the policy, planning, buying and delivery of health and social care, at both local and national levels and provide information and advice to people who need to make choices about and access services.
